How do you feel about venturing out into the world to make friends?
For most of us, this is a real thrill. The feeling of connection to a group of people, no matter how many miles or hours are between you and them, is something to celebrate.
And yet, for many of us, the process of making friends and finding our own communities can be difficult, frustrating, or even lonely. It is not always easy to talk to the people we want to know, and when we do, we are often disappointed with the outcome. We might get a nice conversation started, but then it ends because of a language barrier, or because the person we want to talk to is not interested in talking to us. Or maybe we get to know each other, but our relationship ends there.
In fact, for many of us, connecting with other people is a real challenge. We might have a good idea of what kind of people we like, but we are not always sure how to go about communicating this idea to the people who are most likely to be interested in talking to us.
